Writer of The Month: In the spring of 1958 Hank was born in a small town in eastern Pennsylvania, where his ancestors had lived for at least three centuries. He became interested in poetry in grammar school when a teacher made him memorize a poem by Robert Burns called "My Heart is in the Highlands" and although today he doesn't remember the teacher he still remembers the poem. He started writing his own poetry at at age 13.

Hank has always been compelled to write about his feelings. He was in the military as both a soldier and a sailor from 1977 to 2007 at which time he was medically retired as a Chief Petty Officer due to a service-connected physical disability. During this time he saw many things all over the world that gave him inspiration.

With the development of the Internet he finally found an outlet to share his writing and still retain my anonymous. He has never had anything published except for posting on various websites. He now resides in west central Florida with his wife of over 30 years. Hank is father of three adult children and has one granddaughter.
