What words that sound alike, but are spelled differently do you have a hard time with if any. I have a hard time with effect and affect.

affect = verb
effect=noun

I don't usually have a problem with them myself but It really grates on me when I see "there, their, and they're" used incorrctly. I can forgive typos, we all make them. but correct usage is something for which we should all proof read and edit.

Icon7 I can usually see the mistakes, but one I have difficulty with is "awful and aweful"...first one is 'really bad', second one is 'filled with awe'...have to really think hard to remember whether I need the 'e' or not. I know there are many more homonyms that are confusing, but if you're not sure, look it up, it's that simple. Using the tools in Word, if you're not sure, click on "Tools", then "Language", then "Thesaurus"...this will give you an idea of the meaning of the word with other like words...if it isn't what you're looking for, then the word is obviously spelled wrong.

Insure and Ensure get me. Meaning is almost the same, but one usually applies more appropriately than the other. Thank goodness for a Thesaurus.
