What a great Idea!

Word is constantly upgrading, and it drives me nuts....I'm going to use note pad for all of my writing...I'm off to bed now, I'm going to try this in the morning. I'll let you know. Thank you so much Shawn.

I know this will sound stupid to you but I'm not too clear on this action

do you want me to copy & paste the story here on this page?
or send it as an attachment? Sorry I'm not too swift today.

Yes copy and paste it here in the forums so I can take a look at it ..

Once you copy and paste it here, highlight it with your mouse and click the icon that looks like a number sign so the forums dont strip away any formating that may be added from your editor...

Sunday with Victor, and Me
It is 2009-08-16, 11:19 in the morning, and I feel like writing. After reading a well written story about the beauty of a woman, I’m compelled, and inspired so here goes...

He is in the kitchen now doing our dirty dishes from the night before. A few moments ago he informed me that tonight’s dinner menu will include:  marinated prime-rib roast beef, baked potatoes with sour-cream garnished with finely chopped shallot greens, cauliflower with four types of exotic cheese in the sauce, and delicious gravy. Sighing in a tone that I hope sounded optimistic, I said; “oh my goodness that sounds wonderful, I can’t wait!” followed with: “If you need my help, just ask,”

It isn't all here Shawn, I think it is too large for this box, It would not let me Hi-lite the whole document I tried 3 times.

Hello Manyfacets,

Thats quiet alright it shows me whats going on in the first box anyway, see the square symbols beside some of the words??? Thats the hidden formating I was talking about, your word document puts them in and then when you paste it to our editor it adds them to it as well making it all messed up.

Are you copying it to Notepad first? Before pasting it to our editor for submission?

If you copy it to Notepad from Word it should strip the hidden formatting away that Word added. Then take the copy you pasted to Notepad and use it to submit to our form.

As the above box truly shows the hidden formating in the square boxes next to the words...

This is notepad, it looks terrible!

I couldn’t help thinking that we may not be eating until midnight, and I’m hungry now! His retort to me upon leaving the room was: “I know what you are thinking, and you will be eating by 6:00 PM.”  I chuckled at his last dry remark; we do have the uncanny ability to read each other’s mind. There is a difference in our reactions to it though. I always laugh my head off, and he gets really angry. I hear him use the same phrase each and every day. Which is: “I think it; you say it like it was your idea!” In his view I’m stealing his thoughts. Can you believe it? I’m a thought thief!

I fixed it. Have a look now. You need to copy from "Word" to notepad and then to the editor.

Nope...

Still all scrambled in the preview window

Here is an outline of the steps I'm taking:

click EDIT

Select & Delete the story in the editor now

Select the new piece in word document

Copy & paste it into the editor

Click the Preview window....It is all scrambled no paragraphs
just a mass of printing.

I've never tried to submit it like that because I think it will stay that way
