Hi Rose:
I just tried your recommendations, and they did not work for me...Still scrambled.

Here is what I did and it worked fine...although tedious.

I reworked the story by working between the codes (>>)
one paragraph at a time. All is well, and it looks reasonable.

At the end of the edit, after clicking submit; it is still saying: "Site under construction. Come back later and try again." Upon looking at it, the changes are there though.

Silly Me....just noticed that this morning...Ha, ha. What is that, and what did I do to receive such cute title?

Hi again Rose:

I know I told you I wouldn't touch it again, but I guess I lied, because I touched it....

I edited both of my stories: "Sunday with Victor & Emergency Room"

I had no trouble with the first one, but (the one you told me not to touch) was a bit of a nightmare. I ran out of those little thing-a-m-bobs, (these >>) and the paragraphs just won't separate in that bottom section. However, when you click on the edit icon, and look in the window of the editor you can see the paragraphs that just won't space...this is the most important part, the end.

I did a complete rewrite of it, so everything was completely different.

I'm lost in a sea of...computer crap, (to coin a phrase)
Can you fix the last few paragraphs? I just gave up, after 4 attempts.

Smiles...

Hello Again Rose:

It's Tuesday Sept. 1/09

I did a little more fiddling with the Editor.

Yesterday the editor scrambled the last 6 paragraphs of my story, because I ran out of the these <br>. Today I awoke with a new idea to try, which was to copy and paste one of these <br> at the beginning and end of the paragraphs I wanted to separate; then push Enter, and it worked!...But this is a very tedious task.

I do hope this information is conducive to getting the editor fixed.

In review here are the tasks that have been tried, but did not work: (For me)

Did NOT work:
I Deleted the whole story, C&P it back into editor from "word"...it scrambled.
I C & P it from "Notepad"...It scrambled.

DID work:
Using "word", C & P each paragraph between the existing codes <br>
that appeared after the original posting of the document. When I ran out of these <br> for the new the changes to be "added," I C & P them at the beginning and end of each paragraph; then pushed "enter"...

Smiles B.

The editor isn't the problem my dear. The user is. lol

Once again.....

Instructions:

Copy from word to notepad.

Paste into editor.

Word leaves behind code. You need to quit copying from word into the editor.

Notepad is doing the same thing
My notepad must be part of word
is there another kind of notepad?

I have three (3) types in my computer: "word"...Wordpad....Notepad,

all three scramble when I edit.

I want to delete this from the system, but want you to see it. This is the edit from notepad...I also posted the original from notepad.
It may very well be the user at fault, but if the user has no options she is ...rather up the creek without a paddle. LOL

Woman's Main Event

Poet Author: Manyfacets

All Audiences manyfacets @ 09 02 2009

Woman’s Main Event Hated waiting for a Doctor, seeking to find out why these little flutters are tossing me about? He came back to me, smiling, with a touch pride and calmly said: “well my dear, today the rabbit died” His words did not make any sense to me, he tried again just as slow as can be I finally grasped the gist of his words, tried to be cool with the news just heard It’s a condition common to the human race go home, relax and watch your weight I asked once more: “it’s not a definite maybe?” No, he said: “you’re going to have a baby” The months went by. I’m a titanic whale hoping like hell, that nothing will fail! Out of the blue entered nature’s tricks I started having the Braxton and Hicks! A peculiar feeling that drove me mad, wasn’t sure if it’s good or bad! It felt like fire, ice, needles and pins considered not, one of nature’s wins Oh yes it was! I quickly found out, questions answered left me no doubt My body was ready for the next unknown phase I just sat, waited and tried to be brave. All of a sudden the water broke! Truly such volume will float the boat The Doctor arrived from delivering another, said dear: “tomorrow you’ll be a mother” A Cesarean section? It wasn’t expected! I’ll trust the Doctor. I calmly reflected All prepared for the morning event, off to the operating room I went! When I awoke in the late afternoon I told them: “please take me to my room” I felt very tired, just wanted to sleep, but a guest arrived that I had to meet! All dressed in blue, I exclaimed great joy! When they handed me my beautiful baby BOY! Rose This is an EDIT. I posted it with NOTEPAD. I followed it with an immediate edit, this is the result!

Don't leave comments this will be deleted!

Could you please post a story and leave it so I can see what you are doing wrong.

When submitting do you choose plain old text or html formatted.

If you are choosing html formatted and it has no formatting <br> tags, there is your problem.

Ok Rose I get it, I'm now on the same page.

Here is what i understand.

Posting is not a problem, I copy from Word to notepad
Notepad to your site box.

BUT I cannot edit to make changes to something
that is already in the system UNLESS I Delete the work
and then repost it.

If comments are attached they will be lost.

So the situation is moot.

I was under the impression that if an error was discovered
long after piece was in the system, I would be able to "Select" & Delete"
the portion with the error. Then copy and paste the new changes
and click ok. It appears that I was wrong about that.

Here is what you are doing wrong. When editing you have to use html. You can't just post your story.

I don't know what I was thinking. I was giving you instructions on submitting. So just make sure you have <br> tags in between each of your paragraphs.

Nope I've been doing it right all along. If you read all of my posts here, you will note that when I used edit to redo my story ER I told you that I had to put all of the new paragraphs between the codes <br>, and it was the most frustrating, tedious task. LOL I was hoping that what I was doing was wrong. Oh well it isn't going to kill me so I will probably do it again sometime....Ha!

Correct: You need to put all the new paragraphs between the <br> code.

Example............

Being Your Own Worst Enemy

By Rose DesRochers

Do you live your life with doubt, always trying to live up to the standards others set for you? Life can be filled with disappointments if we live each day seeking the approval of others. Remember that you are who you are because of you, not because of another persons perception of you. At the end of your life the only important question will be: "Did you live your life as you saw fit?" <br><br>

In all honesty, I can be my own worse enemy. I let people get the better of me. <br><br>

When you let someone get the best of you, than you are really letting them win. In life we are faced with the joy of living life or the pain and disappointment of not living life to its fullest.

<br><br>

I have always gotten by the strength and courage that I learned from my mother. One thing that she taught me was that life is a battle and sometimes you have to fight or you will die having never tried.

I don't know whether I'd call it a glitch or perhaps just an oversight. when I went to the "site map" section of the website I found the title "Today's Woman" Site Map. I'm guessing that you may have changed the name or perhaps you used that name during the web design phase and just never changed it. What ever the reason, it really makes no difference to me, but I thought I would bring it to your attention.

I somehow missed this when you reported it. We moved the site over from our previous site Todays-Woman. I'll see that's fixed. Thanks for the heads up. Laughing Laughing

This isn't a glitch (more like I made a boo-boo). I posted a new poem called "Plauged," but it had a typo. I spelled corrupting "corrupiting" and so decided to fix it, but ended up posting my poem twice. Embarassed The second post above the first one is the one I'd like kept. I'm sorry for the inconvience this caused. I'm extremely embarrassed about it. I also apologize if I posted this in the wrong area, but I didn't know where else to post it. Again, sorry for my mistake.
