A clerihew is a a humorous rhyming four-line biographical poem invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley.
Sir Humphrey Davy
Abominated gravy.
He lived in the odium
Of having discovered sodium.
by Edmund Clerihew Bentley
The first line uses the character's name.
The first line rhymes with the second line.
The third line rhymes with the fourth line
This isn't the easiest genre to write in my opinion. I'll try....
Ed, extraterrestrial alien, he sure isn’t ET
Dumbfounded and clueless is he
Needless to say
He brightens our day
Rose, a poet quite witty
wrote a little ditty
It made everyone grin
A sure fire win

Shakespeare was a mighty bard
But understanding him is hard
His language left me quite confused
Then "Cliff Notes" helped me get enthused |

Amusing and krazee girl Lizzi,
makes everyone confused and dizzy,
but really she's not such a trial,
because she also makes us all smile.
hows that? |
